Visual discovery with Open Knowledge Maps
Whether you are a student, a researcher a journalist, or a practitioner, you know this situation: you need to get an overview of an unknown field of research - and you need it fast. In this session, you will learn how to approach this task using Open Knowledge Maps, a visual discovery tool. Together with other participants, you will go on a scientific scavenger hunt in an unknown research field. You will learn strategies to answer general questions like “What are the hottest research topics within this field?” as well as specific ones, such as “How effective are routine tests for Dengue fever?”
All stakeholders that benefit from better discoverability of research: researchers, students, librarians, practitioners, journalists, citizens, funders, policy makers
