Open science policy aspects in the context of EOSC governance framework
Workshop abstract
The challenge of EOSC governance is how to construct a framework allowing varied and disparate stakeholders to work together. The EOSCPilot project has established a Governance Development Forum (EGDF) so that all stakeholders can contribute to the development of a governance framework to inform the establishment of EOSC and its governance structure. In this workshop we will discuss how Open Science should manifest in the EOSC governance framework.
Open Science is about conducting research in such a way that others can collaborate and contribute; and that research data, research methods and other research products and processes are freely available, thus encouraging reuse, re-distribution and reproduction of the research.
The workshop will address questions such as:
- How does Open Science transpose into governance?
- How can high level research governance be transparent and responsive?
- How can governance foster open scholarship?
- What are the steps we need to take and where do the responsibilities lie?
- This workshop is a continuation of the Towards a Policy Framework for the EOSC : The EOSC Pilot Perspective Workshop.

about Agenda
We will start with short introductions to what has been discussed within the EOSC Pilot so far, and will then continue with an open panel discussion. We look forward to an engaging discussion about what the key points are and what the main outcomes should be when Open Science Policy meets governance.
