#OSFAIR2023
Monitoring Open Science in the context of incentives and rewards for Open Science
The workshop aims to establish the context for Open Science Policy and Research Assessment and to provide a brief overview of the importance of monitoring Open Science practices and policies, and to offer insights from the collective efforts of the OPUS, GraspOS, and PathOS projects.
UNESCO-LIBER hands-on workshop on adopting, adapting and taking advantage of the open science Recommendation toolkit
LIBER and UNESCO propose a hands-on workshop about Discovering, adopting, adapting and taking advantage of the open science Recommendation toolkit for implementing open science practices and services in your institution.
Digital Skills for FAIR and Responsible Open Science: Co-creating the Content, Structure and Pathways
This workshop proposal from the Skills4EOSC and PATTERN projects together with the EOSC Association’s Data Stewardship Curricula and Career Paths Task Force aims to promote new approaches to address competence gaps in Open Science (OS) and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), clarify the role profiles and career paths of data professionals, and help design high quality FAIR learning resources for learners and educators.
How Open Science and AI could Scale up the Circular Economy practice
This workshop stimulates the discussion on how AI and Open Science (OS) can be used to accelerate the transition towards a Circular Economy (CE) and will result in 10 Proof of concepts (POC) of a to be solution. We bring together different stakeholders that will continue the work after this conference. Challenges as transparency and reusability of project results should be considered and possible solutions will be discussed during this workshop.
Open Science Knowledge Graphs: Transforming the Way we Manage, Explore, and Analyze Scientific Knowledge
In this workshop, SciLake representatives will elaborate on the mission of building a comprehensive scholarly communication graph and the technical solutions under development. Representatives from key ESFRIs will present their ongoing work on the creation and maintenance of domain-specific SKGs, their current needs and identified challenges. By exploring the initiatives of these projects, we aim to provide insights into the usage of SKGs in Open Science activities and the impact they have on research output and collaborations.
Beyond DSpace 7: the FAIR Repository Platform (Tutorial)
The “Beyond DSpace 7” Tutorial aims to introduce the latest version of the DSpace platform to the audience and discuss the features particularly relevant in the context of the Open Science FAIR.
What do you need? A collaborative approach to understanding OER requirements across all stakeholders
This workshop aims to start bridging the gap between users, producers, infrastructure managers and policy makers to make their individual requirements and perspectives visible to decide on possible next steps for the institutions to turn Open Education into practice
Open Science Game: Open Up Your Research
In this 45-minute workshop, we present an engaging and interactive game designed to educate participants about the principles and practices of Open Science. The game follows the journey of a young researcher named Emma, as she navigates the challenges of conducting her doctoral research.
Improving the efficiency and quality of institutional OA publishing
In the transition towards open access, institutional publishing is challenged by fragmentation and varying service quality, limited visibility, and sustainability. In this workshop we will pay special attention to ‘Diamond’ models of publishing that are scholar-led and owned and do not charge fees for reading or publication to either readers or authors.
Implementing open science for all of Europe: ORE and other emerging models
This workshop will introduce the concept of open science as an emerging publishing model in Europe. It will highlight the importance of open science in promoting scientific progress, sharing knowledge, and facilitating collaboration among researchers.
Navigating data lakes for Earth and marine science: FAIR Data management and Service Interoperability in practice
This workshop is envisioned as an addition to the Blue-Cloud Training Academy, which aims to stimulate the uptake of FAIR data practices in marine science and neighbouring disciplines, through contributions by key actors such as EuroGOOS and IEEE. The workshop also has a strong overlap with the FAIR-IMPACT project regarding development and uptake of FAIR service descriptions (expansion of FAIR software) and methods for assessment.
